The Backbone Award honors the rarest breed in D.C. — elected officials who actually do their jobs.

These senators and representatives stood tall, stared down the political pressure machine, and voted against Trump’s so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill” — not because it was unpopular, but because it was irresponsible.

🎖️ 2026 Featured Recipients

Awarded to those who said “No thanks” to ballooning debt, broken promises, and bills written in invisible ink.

  • Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) – Voted no due to the bill's budget-busting price tag. Somebody read the fine print!
  • Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) – Opposed cuts to Medicaid buried in the bill’s fine print. Pennsylvania thanks you.
  • Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) – Took a stand for vulnerable Americans and said no to deep Medicaid cuts. That’s leadership.
  • Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) – Called out Trump’s broken promise on healthcare. Honesty in politics? Yes, please.

We don’t hand these out like candy. To qualify for a Backbone Award, a legislator must:

  • ❌ Say no to fiscal gimmicks and reckless spending sprees
  • 🗣️ Defend their vote with facts — not tweets
  • ⚖️ Put country and constituents before cults and cronies
  • 🔧 Push for smart, long-term reforms that outlive the news cycle
